About Soong Kee Beef Noodles

Soong Kee has been serving beef noodles in Chinatown since 1945 and is now run by the third generation of the same family. The dry version is the one to order: springy egg noodles tossed in a dark, savoury minced-beef sauce, served with a separate bowl of clear broth packed with handmade beef balls. Tripe and tendon versions start from about RM12.

The shop is a small corner unit a few minutes' walk from the Petaling Street arches and Pasar Seni LRT station, and the turnover is quick even when there is a queue. It works well as a lunch stop between Madras Lane in the morning and Kim Lian Kee in the evening.
