Best Hotels in Kuala Lumpur: Budget to Luxury

Hotels in Kuala Lumpur

This guide covers 23 hotels in Kuala Lumpur, from RM40 backpacker beds in Chinatown and Bukit Bintang to rooms above RM2,000 near the top of Merdeka 118. Every property was checked in October 2026: we confirmed it is still trading under the name shown, corrected addresses and updated nightly rate ranges.

Rates are typical room-only prices per night in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and swing with season, school holidays and big events. Malaysia charges a Tourism Tax of RM10 per room per night to foreign guests, collected at check-in. Standard check-in is 3 pm and check-out 12 noon at most properties, and every hotel listed has a 24-hour front desk.
