Johor Bahru Nightclubs: The One Late-Night Venue We Could Confirm
Johor Bahru nightclubs are hard to pin down. Johor Bahru (JB) does have clubs and karaoke lounges in Mount Austin, Taman Pelangi, Sutera Utama and at The ZON duty-free area in Stulang, but most open and close quickly and post only on social media. This Johor Bahru nightclubs guide lists just 1 late-night venue we could confirm on its own website, and it is a live-music bar rather than a dance club.
Clubs named in older guides, such as Freedom Ultimate Club and The Geoventure at The ZON or LED Modern Bar in Mount Austin, are left out because we found no 2025 or 2026 source we could read. Zonix Club in Taman Ekoflora, the DJ club most recent guides recommend, is also left out: its website has listed no events since March 2026, parts of the site now show unrelated spam, and its Facebook page was unavailable in October 2026, so we could not confirm it is still open. For a calmer drink, see the Johor Bahru bars guide.

Hard Rock Cafe Puteri Harbour
Hard Rock Cafe Puteri Harbour, open since December 2021, is the most reliable place in greater JB for a live band late at night. It is on the waterfront at Puteri Harbour in Iskandar Puteri, about 30 minutes by car west of the city centre, and seats up to 238 people, with an outdoor terrace for 40 overlooking the harbour. Its website lists a resident band, Yunoya Band, playing from 7 pm to 11:45 pm.
The bar stays open until 1 am on Friday and Saturday. In 2026 the cafe runs all-day Tiger and Guinness set promotions, a buy-one-get-one Tiger draught deal for bikers, and themed nights such as a Halloween party on 29 October 2026. Parking is at Pinetree Marina Resort; phone +60 7-276 9999 to book.
Tips for a Late Night in Johor Bahru
Friday and Saturday are the busiest nights. Puteri Harbour is about 30 minutes by car west of the city centre, so use Grab and agree how you will get back before the bar closes.
Carry your passport or IC, as clubs check ID and you must be 18 or over. Plan your way home before you go out: Causeway Link bus CW2 runs through the night to Singapore, but checkpoint queues can be long after midnight at weekends.
