Best Restaurants in Selangor: 12 Picks for 2026
Selangor's restaurants are spread across the towns that ring Kuala Lumpur. Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya have the densest choice, and Klang, the old royal town to the west, is where claypot bak kut teh comes from.
This guide covers 12 of the best restaurants in Selangor, checked in October 2026 against the restaurants' own websites, live Grab listings and 2025 and 2026 food guides. It lists sit-down restaurants only: street stalls and food courts are in the Selangor hawker food guide, and places inside Kuala Lumpur city are in the KL guides. Each entry gives the town, address, hours and a price band.
Two honest limits. Many listings give only a price band, so we show Budget, Mid-range or Upper rather than invented ringgit figures, and we give RM prices only where a source states one. We left out restaurants we could not confirm as trading this month, including several coastal seafood places in Sekinchan and Kuala Selangor. Where we could not find current hours, the entry says "check hours before visiting".

Village Park Restaurant
Village Park Restaurant in Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya, is known for one dish: nasi lemak served with fried chicken coated in herbs and curry spices. It also serves beef rendang, grilled toast and lontong, and a June 2025 KL Foodie nasi lemak guide still calls it a legendary spot with long queues.
That guide lists 6:30 am to 5:30 pm daily, so it works for breakfast or lunch rather than dinner. Expect queues around lunchtime and arrive early. It is Muslim-owned, but we could not confirm a current JAKIM certificate, so check on site if that matters to you.

Its Grab Dine Out listing gives 10 am to 9:30 pm daily, with reviews from the past week. It sits on the ground floor of the Oval at 1 Utama, so it suits a meal after shopping. Halal status is not stated on the listing, so ask staff before ordering.
Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill
Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill is on the lobby level of Sunway Resort in Bandar Sunway. It is the only Gordon Ramsay steakhouse in Malaysia, serving the chef's signature dishes such as beef Wellington alongside premium steaks.
The hotel's website lists breakfast 7 am to 10:30 am, lunch 12 pm to 2:30 pm, afternoon tea 2:30 pm to 5 pm and dinner 5 pm to 10:30 pm, with the lounge and bar open 12 pm to 11 pm. Book ahead on +60 3-7495 1572. It is the dressiest option in this guide, so allow around two hours. Halal status is not stated, so ask when booking.
Din Tai Fung Sunway Pyramid
Din Tai Fung is the Taiwanese dumpling chain known for xiao long bao, and this is its Sunway Pyramid outlet on the ground floor. The official reservations page lists Monday to Friday 10:30 am to 9:30 pm and Saturday to Sunday 10 am to 9:30 pm.
Peak times at the weekend and on public holidays have queues, so book through the brand's website or call +60 3-5611 2236. We could not confirm the outlet's halal status from the official page, so check with the restaurant.
Murni Discovery
Murni Discovery is a halal restaurant in the Subang Business Centre in USJ, known for late-night dining, with an outdoor seating area and parking, and its signature is the Nasi Goreng Ecuador, a smoky fried rice that reviewers single out.
Its Grab listing has reviews from the past week, so it is trading, but we could not confirm current opening hours. Check them on Google Maps before a late visit.
Restoran Windmill
Restoran Windmill in SS12, Subang Jaya, serves halal Western and local dishes. Diners praise the juicy sirloin steak, the black pepper chicken and the fried fish set, which comes with mushroom soup and coffee. A set lunch menu gives good value.
Its Grab Dine Out listing gives 11 am to 10 pm daily. It is close to the Subang Jaya Medical Centre, so parking can be tight on weekdays. Reservations are accepted and there is a kids' menu. Phone +60 3-5631 8177.
Boran Subang Jaya
Boran is a Thai street-food restaurant in SS14, Subang Jaya. Its tom yum noodle broth is the dish diners mention most.

Teluk Pulai Bak Kut Teh
Klang is the home of claypot bak kut teh, and Teluk Pulai Bak Kut Teh in Taman Intan is one of the best-known shops. The pork rib broth is cooked with herbs and spices and served in a claypot with tendons, tofu puffs and meat, with a dry version also available.
A SmartLocal article from August 2026 lists hours of 7 am to 9 pm (Wednesday to 3:30 pm) and about RM22 a bowl. Older listings give 7 am to 2 pm, so go in the morning to be safe. Expect queues at weekends. The meal is pork-based and not halal.
Garam Masala North Indian Restaurant
Garam Masala serves North Indian food in Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang. Reviewers mention the mushroom biryani, the paneer 65 with tamarind sauce and the spicy chicken curry, and vegan and gluten-free dishes are listed. Its Grab Dine Out listing has reviews from the past week.
That listing gives 10:40 am to 10:40 pm daily. Phone +60 3-3318 2265. Halal status is not stated, so confirm with the restaurant.
How to Plan Your Selangor Restaurant Visits
Most of the entries are in the Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya corridor, which is easy to combine on one day with a Grab ride of 15 to 25 minutes between areas. Village Park and Teluk Pulai are breakfast and lunch places, so do them early and keep dinner for Out of Africa, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill or Garam Masala in Klang.
Klang is about 45 minutes by car or KTM Komuter from central Kuala Lumpur, so pair Teluk Pulai for breakfast with Garam Masala for lunch or dinner. Seafood at Unique Seafood is sold by weight, so agree the price before the dish is cooked.
If halal food matters, use the flags on each entry. Where the flag says halal status is not confirmed, we could not find a certificate or a clear statement, so ask the restaurant.
