About Nasi Lemak Tanglin

Nasi Lemak Tanglin has served nasi lemak at the Tanglin food complex near the Lake Gardens since 1948, which makes it one of the oldest stalls in the building. The rice is steamed rather than boiled, giving it a loose, fluffy texture with coconut and lemongrass notes, and the sambal is sweet first with a slow heat. The nasi lemak with ayam sambal costs about RM11 and a teh ais around RM3.80.

This is a morning-only stall that closes around 12:30 pm, and popular sides can run out well before that. The food complex is a short Grab ride from KL Sentral or the National Mosque, so it fits neatly before a walk in Perdana Botanical Garden. The family also runs a restaurant branch in Bukit Damansara.
