About Melaka Straits Mosque at Sunset
The Straits Mosque stands on stilts over the sea on the west side of Melaka Island, so the sun sets behind it across the Strait of Melaka. As the light fades the mosque is lit, and at high tide it appears to float.
Sunset is close to the Maghrib prayer, so the mosque will be busy with worshippers. Watch from the seafront outside, dress modestly if you go in, and do not enter during prayers. The mosque itself is in the Melaka temples guide.
