About Wat Chetawan

Wat Chetawan is a Thai Theravada temple in Petaling Jaya with a main shrine hall built in classic Thai style: steep multi-tiered roofs, gilded gables and naga (serpent) finials. The temple was built with support from the Thai community and royal family and is one of the best places near KL to see Thai temple architecture.

Inside the hall is a golden seated Buddha; outside are smaller shrines, a pavilion with a four-faced Brahma image and gardens. Shoes come off before entering any building. Published hours vary between sources, so it is safest to visit between 9 am and 5 pm. It is about 20 minutes by Grab from central KL.
