About Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah (Blue Mosque)

The state mosque of Selangor opened in 1988 and is known as the Blue Mosque for its huge blue-and-silver dome, one of the largest mosque domes in the world. Four minarets frame the building, and the prayer hall holds around 24,000 people.

Free guided visits for non-Muslims are run from the visitor centre, where women are lent robes and headscarves; men need long trousers. Note that the mosque is closed to visitors at weekends and on public holidays. Shah Alam is about 35–45 minutes from central KL by car or Grab.
