About Akar
Akar (formerly Akar Dining) was promoted to one Michelin star in the 2026 guide. Chef Aidan Low runs a set menu that mixes European technique with Japanese, French and Malaysian influences, using methods such as cooking in melted beeswax, dry-ageing and searing in claypot. Local rice wine and sake are offered as pairings.
The lunch menu costs about RM288++ and the longer dinner menu about RM588++ per person. Lunch runs only on Friday and Saturday. Like DC., Akar sits in the TTDI shoplot area west of the city centre, so combine the trip with a walk in TTDI Park or Bukit Kiara. Reservations are recommended.
