About Perkampungan Ikan Bakar Terapung Umbai
Umbai, on the coast road towards Muar, is where Melaka goes for ikan bakar: fresh fish, squid and prawns grilled over charcoal in banana leaf with sambal. The city council's food page lists the floating grilled fish village (Medan Ikan Bakar Terapung) at Umbai, and the state tourism portal lists Umbai among its grilled fish villages.
