Car Repair in Melaka: 6 Breakdown and Service Centre Contacts
Car repair in Melaka is mostly a question of who to call: the state is small, with brand service centres clustered around Bachang, Ayer Keroh, Cheng and the main roads out of Melaka City, the historic port also spelt Malacca. For a visitor the important numbers are the expressway operator, a mobile battery and tyre service, and an authorised workshop for the common rental cars.
This guide covers 6 contacts checked in October 2026 on the operators' own websites: the PLUS expressway patrol, one Bateriku roadside assistance branch, Perodua's own service centre and three Honda dealer service centres. Perodua and Honda are listed because they are among the most common rental cars in Malaysia. Prices for servicing and parts depend on the car, so we do not quote them.

24-Hour Breakdown and Roadside Help in Melaka
PLUSRonda
PLUSRonda is the patrol team of PLUS Malaysia Berhad, the operator of the North-South Expressway, which passes through Melaka state with exits at Simpang Ampat, Ayer Keroh and Jasin; Ayer Keroh is the main exit for Melaka City. If you break down or see an accident on the expressway, PLUS asks drivers to call PLUSLine on 1-800-88-0000.
Pull onto the hard shoulder, switch on your hazard lights and wait behind the safety barrier while the patrol is sent. Roads inside Melaka City, such as Lebuh AMJ and Jalan Tun Fatimah, are not PLUS roads, so for a breakdown in town call the rental company, a roadside service or 999 in an emergency.
Bateriku Bandar Melaka
Bateriku is a Malaysian roadside assistance company with eight branches in Melaka. Its Bandar Melaka branch at 41-A Jalan Ong Kim Wee, on the western edge of the city centre, is listed open every day from 7 am to midnight on +60 19-215 1784, and covers battery replacement, jump-starts, towing, tyre patching or replacement, fuel top-up and car locksmith calls.
Bateriku says help arrives within 30 minutes, and battery inspection, delivery and fitting are free when you buy a battery, subject to its terms. The national hotline is +60 11-1600 6008 and bookings can also be made in the Bateriku app. In a rental car, ask the rental company before paying for a new battery yourself.

Where to Make an Accident Report in Melaka
In an emergency, call 999. After any road accident in Malaysia, the driver must make a police report within 24 hours at the nearest police station; insurers and rental companies will ask for the report number. Take photos of both cars, the number plates and the road before the cars are moved, and exchange names, phone numbers and insurance details with the other driver.
What to Do After a Breakdown: Car Repair in Melaka Tips
先确保安全
Pull over as far left as you can, switch on your hazard lights, place a warning triangle behind the car if you have one, and wait behind the barrier rather than inside the car on a fast road.
拖车前先联系租车公司或保险公司
Rental agreements usually require you to use the company's own roadside assistance. A tow or repair you arrange yourself may not be refunded, and unauthorised repairs can affect your deposit.
不要把车钥匙交给不请自来的拖车
Tow trucks sometimes arrive at accident scenes before anyone has called them and then charge high fees. Only accept a tow that you, your insurer, the rental company or the expressway operator has arranged, and agree the price first.
索取书面报价
Ask any workshop for a written quote before work starts, and keep the replaced parts if you need to claim the cost back from your insurer or rental company.
Plan around weekend closures
The service centres in this guide close on Sundays and public holidays, and the Cheng centre closes at 1:30 pm on Saturdays. For a weekend problem, a roadside service such as Bateriku is usually the quickest fix.
