i-City at Night
After dark, i-City turns on LED lighting across its gardens and walkways, and it markets itself as the City of Digital Lights. CNN Travel named it among the brightest and most colourful places in the world in 2017. It is the main night-time sight in Shah Alam and is easy to combine with dinner in the Central i-City mall or a visit to the SnoWalk.

Kuala Selangor Firefly Boats
The mangroves along the Selangor River at Kampung Kuantan hold one of the largest firefly colonies in the world. Small rowed boats drift along the bank for about 20 minutes while thousands of male fireflies flash in near-unison on the berembang trees. It is a night view of a different kind, and it needs darkness: bright moonlight and rain reduce the display.
Published boat fares and times differ between sources, so confirm both before you go. Torches and flash photography are not allowed, and mosquito repellent is useful. Blue Mosque at Night
The Blue Mosque's 51.2-metre dome and four 142-metre minarets dominate the Shah Alam skyline, and they are the most recognisable shape in Selangor after dark. Sit on the edge of the grounds or by the Garden of Islamic Arts for a view.
We could not confirm the lighting schedule or whether the grounds stay open late, so treat this as a drive-by or short stop rather than a destination. Visitor tours happen in daytime only, as listed in the temples guide. Keep respectful dress and quiet near the mosque.
How to Plan a Selangor Night View Evening
Shah Alam is the easiest pairing: see the Blue Mosque in late afternoon, have dinner at Central i-City mall and walk the lit grounds after dark. The firefly boats at Kuala Selangor need a separate evening because of the drive of about 70 km from KL; combine them with seafood dinner and a stop at Bukit Melawati at sunset.
Public transport at night is limited outside the Klang Valley, so arrange a car or Grab back before you leave. Mosquito repellent helps at the mangroves.
