Drinks in Selangor are at their best in the kopitiams and neighbourhood shops: kopi kaw in Klang's old town, Hainan coffee in Port Klang, teh tarik in Taman Palm Grove and matcha in Petaling Jaya. This guide covers 7 places for drinks in Selangor state, outside Kuala Lumpur city limits, and says which town each one is in.
Every entry was checked in October 2026 against a 2025 or 2026 source: Tourism Selangor features and the venues' current Grab Dine Out listings, which show dine-in hours and recent reviews. Where we could not confirm hours, the entry says "check hours before visiting". Prices are from Grab delivery menus and are usually a little higher than at the counter.

Chong Kok Kopitiam
Chong Kok Kopitiam is a Klang kopitiam that has been trading since 1940. A May 2026 Tourism Selangor feature on Royal Klang describes its marble-top tables and its kopi kaw (extra-strong coffee), served with charcoal-toasted kaya butter bread, soft-boiled eggs and nasi lemak.
It is a breakfast and lunch shop in the old town near Klang KTM station. Opening hours in older guides (2024) are early morning to mid-afternoon, so go in the morning and check the current hours first. The same shop is also listed in our Selangor hawker food guide.
Choon Guan Hainan Coffee 1956
Choon Guan is a Hainanese coffee shop in Pandamaran, the old Chinese new village next to Port Klang. Its Grab menu (October 2026) describes the house Hainan kopi as Liberica beans roasted with butter and brewed with condensed milk; there is also teh, teh tarik and Hainan kopi with Milo.
Grab Dine Out lists dine-in hours of 6:30 am to 3:20 pm, closed on Tuesdays, and shows reviews from October 2026. Delivery prices are usually a little higher than at the counter. Food runs to nasi lemak, Hainanese chicken rice and curry puffs.
Uncle Raju Kopitiam
Uncle Raju Kopitiam is a Klang neighbourhood shop known for pulled tea (teh tarik), alongside kopi, white coffee, roti canai and nasi lemak. Grab Dine Out lists it at 12 Lorong Seraya with dine-in hours of 7 am to 2 pm daily.
In the evening the related Uncle Raju's Corner on the same road (Lot 14623 Lorong Seraya) is listed from 4 pm to midnight, with iced teh tarik on its menu. A 2024 KL Foodie guide describes the Corner as pork-free; neither shop shows a halal certificate online.
Kedai Kopi Maneh
Kedai Kopi Maneh is a kopitiam-style breakfast shop in Seksyen 13, Shah Alam. A Tourism Selangor guide to Shah Alam (October 2025) recommends its fresh coffee with soy sauce wantan noodles and toast with butter and kaya.
The drinks list includes teh tarik maneh, kopi tarik, kopi O and sirap bandung, and the food side adds nasi lemak, lontong and Malay kuih. Grab Dine Out lists dine-in hours of 8 am to 2:30 pm, closed on Mondays, with reviews from October 2026.
Sin Tong Hong Kopitiam
Sin Tong Hong is a modern neighbourhood kopitiam in Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya, with a garden-style interior. A 2024 KL Foodie guide recommends its Hor Ka Sai kopi (coffee mixed with Milo), with prawn noodles, nasi lemak and popiah from the food stalls.
Grab Dine Out lists it as open daily from 7:40 am to 8:25 pm and shows reviews from October 2026. The 2024 guide describes it as pork-free; no halal certificate is listed online.
Ono Specialty Coffee and Matcha
Ono is an SS2 cafe that specialises in ceremonial-grade matcha as well as espresso coffee. A January 2026 Tourism Selangor feature on Petaling cafes names signature drinks such as Kajyu-en (matcha with strawberry) and Furin (matcha with ume, passion fruit and mango).
Grab Dine Out lists it at 47 Jalan SS 2/30, open daily from 10:30 am to 5 pm (phone +60 3-5878 2948), with reviews from October 2026. The menu also has oat-milk versions of most drinks and Japanese-style sandos.
Coffee Boy Club
Coffee Boy Club is a cafe inside The Gasket Alley, the converted industrial lot on Jalan 13/6 in Petaling Jaya. A January 2026 Tourism Selangor feature describes drinks that bring Malaysian flavours into coffee, such as the Gula Melaka Latte and Pandan Latte, plus a Hojicha Latte and Honey Latte.
We found no current listing of its opening hours, so check before you go. The Gasket Alley has other food outlets and parking on site, which makes it an easy stop between PJ and the Federal Highway.
Practical Tips for Drinks in Selangor
How to Order Kopi and Teh
Kopi is coffee with condensed milk, kopi O is black with sugar and kopi C uses evaporated milk. The same rules apply to teh. Add peng or ais for iced, kosong for no sugar and kurang manis for less sweet. Teh tarik is tea pulled between two jugs until frothy, and cham mixes coffee and tea.
Timing
Kopitiams are busiest at breakfast and several on this list close by mid-afternoon. Chong Kok, Choon Guan, Uncle Raju Kopitiam and Kedai Kopi Maneh are morning stops; Sin Tong Hong and Uncle Raju's Corner suit later in the day.
Halal Status
None of these shops shows a halal certificate online, so each entry shows "Check halal status". Some are described as pork-free, which is not the same as halal-certified. Look for the JAKIM certificate at the counter if it matters to you.
