About Kampung Kuantan Fireflies
In Kuala Selangor. Kampung Kuantan, on the Selangor river near Kuala Selangor, is one of the few places in Malaysia where you can still watch fireflies cluster on berembang trees along the riverbank. The boats are non-motorised sampans paddled by the boatman, so the river stays quiet and dark; flash photography and torches are discouraged because they disturb the insects.

Tourism Selangor lists rides at roughly RM60 per boat for MyKad holders and RM100 for others, from about 7:30 to 10:30 pm, but older sources give slightly different prices and times, so confirm and book ahead, especially at weekends and during school holidays.
