About Penang Buddhist Association
Founded in 1925, the Penang Buddhist Association occupies a 1931 building in the Straits Eclectic style. Inside, the main shrine hall is laid with polished tiles and hung with crystal chandeliers, with Buddha images, paintings of the Buddha's life and mother-of-pearl inlaid furniture.
It is an active place of worship and the focus of Penang's Wesak Day celebrations. Visitors are welcome to view the shrine hall quietly with shoes removed. It is on Anson Road, about 10 minutes by Grab from Komtar.
