About Chulia Street Night Hawker Stalls

After dark, the stretch of Lebuh Chulia near Love Lane fills with hawkers who set up outside coffee shops and on the pavement. The best-known stall is the wantan mee run by a mother and son, serving springy noodles tossed in dark soy with char siew, greens, wantan dumplings and crispy pork lard from about RM7. Other kopitiam-front stalls cover char koay teow and other noodle dishes.

Plates run RM6–8, so this is one of the cheapest dinners in the heritage zone, and it is a short walk from the backpacker hostels and bars around Love Lane. Expect a queue at the wantan mee stall from about 8 pm. Cash only.
