About Proclamation of Independence Memorial

This museum about Malaysia's road to independence is housed in the former Malacca Club, a colonial building from 1912 with two onion domes. It was opened by Tunku Abdul Rahman, the first prime minister, on 31 August 1985.

Exhibits include documents, manuscripts, photographs and films from the independence period. It sits on Jalan Kota between A Famosa and the Sultanate Palace, so it is easy to add to a walk around St Paul's Hill.
