About Broga Hill (Bukit Broga)
Broga Hill is a grassy hill near Semenyih, about 400 metres above sea level, with three peaks in a row along an open ridge. It is the classic sunrise hike from KL: the climb to the first peaks takes 30 to 45 minutes for fit walkers and up to 1.5 hours for beginners, and the third peak needs some scrambling with ropes. Arrive by 5 to 5:30 am to reach the top before sunrise at around 7 am.
There are two ways in. The council (MPKJ) trail and car park are free, about 500 metres further along the road; the private estate trail charges RM5 entry and RM5 parking. A Selangor forestry permit is also required, and it is free through forestry.selangor.gov.my. There is no shade on the ridge, so come down before mid-morning. Drive or take a Grab, about an hour from the city centre in light traffic.
