About Nyonya Colors
Nyonya Colors is a long-running KL kuih shop that sells homemade Peranakan sweets from a counter-and-cafe space in The Gardens Mall at Mid Valley. The display usually covers onde-onde (pandan glutinous rice balls with liquid palm sugar), kuih lapis, seri muka, pulut tai tai and kuih talam, plus a short menu of Nyonya noodles and rice dishes if you want to sit down for a meal.
Kuih are sold by the piece, with onde-onde at RM2.65. The shop does not use preservatives, so eat your kuih on the day you buy it. Nyonya Colors is pork-free. For visitors who cannot make it to an early-morning market, this is the easiest place in central KL to try a wide range of traditional kuih in one stop, and the mall location means it is open into the evening.
