About Sulaiman's Famous Cendol
For a named cendol stall rather than a generic hawker-centre bowl, Sulaiman's in Pudu has been serving the city for more than 40 years. The stall sits by the road near Pudu Market and sells old-school cendol: shaved ice, coconut milk, gula Melaka syrup, green rice-flour strips, red kidney beans and sweet corn. Add-ons such as peanuts and pulut (glutinous rice) are available for a small top-up.
A basic bowl costs only a couple of ringgit, which makes it one of the cheapest cendol stops in the city. There is minimal seating, so most people eat standing or perch on the stools beside the cart. It opens at 8:30 am and closes in the afternoon once the day's batch is gone, so combine it with a morning visit to Pudu Market. Pudu LRT station is within walking distance.
