About Pulau Ketam (Crab Island)

Distance from KL: about 2 hours each way by public transport. Take the KTM Komuter Port Klang Line from KL Sentral to Pelabuhan Klang, the last stop (about 1 hour 20 minutes, RM6.40), walk to the South Port passenger terminal, then take the ferry (about 30 to 40 minutes). By car, Port Klang is about 50 minutes from the city centre.

Pulau Ketam is a mangrove island off Port Klang whose Chinese fishing village is built on stilts over the mud. Visitors come to walk the lanes and walkways between wooden houses, see the Chinese temples and eat seafood such as crab, prawns and oyster omelette. There are no beaches. In 2024 the PKF ferry cost RM9 one way and the Alibaba ferry RM12 one way or RM20 return for adults; check fares at the terminal, as they change. Ferries run roughly hourly at weekends and less often on weekdays, with no sailings after dark, so check the last boat back. Some boats call at Sungai Lima first, so confirm your stop when boarding.
