About Morib Beach (Pantai Morib)
Distance from KL: about 65 km south-west, roughly 1 hour 15 minutes by car via Banting. Public transport: no convenient rail or bus link; drive or take a Grab.
Morib is one of the nearest beaches to Kuala Lumpur and a long-standing weekend picnic spot, with about 3 km of shore shaded by casuarinas and palms, and Malay food stalls along the front. The water is shallow and muddy and the tide goes out a long way, so it is a place to walk, fly kites, look for crabs on the flats and watch the sunset rather than to swim. Pantai Baru Morib (Morib New Beach), reached via Jalan Morib Tongkah, has a wider strip of sand. The Kuala Langat District Council manages the beach (+603 3187 2825).
