Tips for Using Johor Bahru Hospitals
Calling an ambulance
Dial 999 in Malaysia. Gleneagles Hospital Johor has its own ambulance and emergency line on 07-560 1111, and both KPJ hospitals list emergency numbers, but 999 is the safest number if you are unsure where you are.
Government or private
Government hospitals charge less but waits are longer, and non-citizens pay higher rates than Malaysians. Private hospitals usually ask for a deposit before admission, so bring your passport and travel insurance details.
Which hospital is nearest
From the Causeway and JB Sentral, Hospital Sultanah Aminah and KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital are the closest, a few minutes' drive west of the city centre. For Legoland, Puteri Harbour or the Second Link, Gleneagles Hospital Johor and Columbia Asia Hospital Iskandar Puteri are nearer.
