One popular daytime area is not listed here. The Kinta Riverwalk was reported in May 2025 to have large unlit sections and the mayor described it as dark and unsafe; plans to add lighting had been announced. Ipoh Railway Station at Night
After dark, the white domes and arcades of the railway station are floodlit, and fountains in the forecourt are lit in changing colours. It is the easiest free night view in the Old Town and fits well after dinner.
The building is a working KTM station, so keep clear of platform areas. The Town Hall next door is also worth a short look. The daytime visit is in the Ipoh attractions guide.
Kellie's Castle at Night
Since January 2025, Kellie's Castle has stayed open until 10 pm. The unfinished mansion is lit up from 7 pm, and night visitors take a guided tram tour. A news report in August 2025 said weekend night tours were close to full.

The Deck Gastrobar at Weil Hotel
The Deck is a rooftop gastro bar at Weil Hotel with an outdoor cabana beside the infinity pool. It looks over the Ipoh skyline to the limestone hills, and sunset is the main draw.
Hours are from Weil Hotel's dining page: closed on Sundays, but open on the eve of public holidays and on public holidays. Call ahead in wet weather.
7 Sky Bar & Lounge at MH Hotel
7 Sky is a seventh-floor bistro and bar on the roof level of MH Hotel with an open-air area and city views. A local blog suggests arriving around 6:30 pm for sunset.
MH Hotel's dining page lists it as open Tuesday to Sunday from 4 pm to 11:30 pm, closed on Mondays, with happy hour from 4 to 6 pm. Ask whether alcohol is served if that matters to you.
Lost World Hot Springs Night Park
In the evening, Sunway Lost World of Tambun opens a Hot Springs Night Park with natural hot springs, lit pools and a Flaming Percussion Show against the dark limestone hill. It is a good family choice after the daytime heat.
Hours and walk-in prices are from the park's website in October 2026; online tickets can be cheaper. Children 90 cm or shorter enter free. Day tickets and Night Park tickets are separate, so buy the right one.
Concubine Lane in the Evening
The lane stays open after the shops shut, and red lanterns and building lights give the alley an evening glow. Expect few open stalls, so treat it as a short walk rather than a market. The daytime version is in the Ipoh attractions guide.
Keep to the main lane after dark and travel in a group if possible. For food and drink after dark, head to the Old Town cafes or an Ipoh night market.
How to Plan an Ipoh Night View Evening
Ipoh sunset falls between about 7 and 7:30 pm all year, and many kopitiam and Old Town shops close early. Plan the lit buildings and Kellie's Castle for after dark, and book a rooftop table at sunset so you see the light change.
The two hotel rooftops are in different parts of the city: The Deck is in the New Town on Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, 7 Sky is further north at Medan Ipoh. Do not try to do both in the same hour. E-hailing is the easiest way around after dark.

Is the Kinta Riverwalk safe at night?
